Everyone knows that the Moon is the only satellite of the Earth. This moon orbits the earth at a distance of several hundred thousand km.. . Sometimes the moon appears larger because it orbits us in an elliptical path. Astronomers call this phenomenon a supermoon. This super moon event happened last August 1st. On that day the moon was 357,530 km from our earth.
